Description
Home is where the heart is and for this adorable Pembroke Welsh Corgi, home is a cozy little hobbit house in Hobbiton New Zealand. This handsome and fantastical piece depicts a contented Pembroke Welsh Corgi dog relaxing in the front garden of Bag End in the village of Hobbiton.
It was inspired by a recent trip to the New Zealand town of Matamata and the gardens and structures of The Shire movie set.
This piece features the exotic style of Japanese wood-block printing as seen by its use of flowing hand-chiseled outlines and brushed on color.
Enjoy this window into a wonderful world of fantasy as depicted by English philologist and University of Oxford professor J.R.R. Tolkien and later film director Peter Jackson.

Stunning image, Kathy, love Hobbiton! The cute Pembroke Welsh Corgi seems to really like being there. I would love to visit that place one day... So beautifully presented, and love the Japanese wood-block printing exquisitely conveyed in your magnificent artwork! F/L

Love your technique! The corgi, too! My parents have a corgi! He's a terrific pet! l/f

Thanks Laura. Corgis are a favorite muse and I adore the breed. I have two sleeping at my feet as I speak. :-)
