Description
While driving through Mexico, my husband and I saw several Crested Caracara perched on cacti and along side the road. Strikingly patterned in black and white, this broad-winged opportunist can be found in semi-open habitats to include the wet prairies of Florida, Arizona deserts, Texas coastal plans, and in Middle and South America. Also known as the Mexican Eagle, the Caracara is actually from the family falcons.
