Nowhere is autumn more stunning than in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky. Not surprising given forests make up 48% of the State. From the Red River Gorge to Land between the Lakes, Kentucky is a great place to enjoy the autumn colors.

This work depicts the Ballard Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Located in the Western part of the state near the Ohio River, it is a refuge for countless deer, beaver, waterfowl, raptors, and more. Its lowland areas are dotted by tupelos (aka swamp trees), whose bright red and orange foliage provide a spectacular backdrop.
