Description
A portrait of a handsome male Blue Jay perched on a branch in Winter. Native to eastern North America, Blue Jays reside through most of the eastern and central United States, although western populations may be migratory.
One of the loudest and most colorful birds of eastern back yards and woodlots, the Blue Jay is unmistakable. Intelligent and adaptable, it may feed on almost anything, and it is quick to take advantage of bird feeders.

The distinctive voice of a jay always takes me back to Lake Tahoe summers at the cabin my father built.
