During our trip to Alaska, we were fortunate enough to come across a wolverine or "skunk bear" (as the Blackfeet Indians call them). Alaska is home to many magnificent animals and the Wolverine is one. A vital part of the ecosystems in northern climes, wolverines are also exceedingly rare. Scientists estimate that fewer than 300 wolverines may live in the lower 48 states.
